While our Field House serves as our main athletic facility, our campus features many outdoor recreational spaces for horseback riding, hiking, skiing, team sports and more.
Field House
Our Field House was the first net zero, LEED Platinum certified school building in the country. It includes an open court, weight room, yoga and fitness room, a ski waxing room, locker rooms and showers, office space and a community space. Accessible 365 days a year, it’s a place for students to play sports, exercise, wax their skis, repair bikes, or simply sit and talk.
Equestrian Center
Home to our Horse Program, The Putney School Farm and Stable is a place for students to learn to care for, tack up and ride horses. The stable features multiple stalls with room for students to bring a horse from home, or form a special bond with one of the horses on campus. There is also a large riding ring to work on everything from the basics of dressage to jumping, along with miles of trails to explore.
Trail System
With more than 40 kilometers of groomed trails, our wooded campus is a way for our school community to enjoy the outdoors and connect with nature. Whether students are out mountain biking or maple sugaring, participating in a race through our robust cross-country ski program, maintaining the trails through a work activity, exploring their natural surroundings as part of a class, or simply enjoying a peaceful walk, our trails are an integral part of a Putney education.
