Fabric Creations
In this workshop, you’ll dive into the art of fabric-based creation, learning not only the essentials of sewing and construction but also exploring your own artistic expression through fabric. You’ll engage in discussions around themes, concepts, and the wide-ranging possibilities of working with textiles—from wearable pieces and functional garments to costume elements and abstract fabric art. Activities include creating mood boards, sketching fabric designs, adapting patterns, and sewing both by hand and on a machine.
Each student will complete unique pieces, including wearable items, showcased in a collaborative exhibit and gallery presentation at the end of the session. Experience with a sewing machine is helpful but not required.
Below is a list of the workshops we will be running this summer. The online application will reflect the workshops that still have availability. Please contact us if you have any questions about workshop placement and availability (summer@putneyschool.org or (802) 387-6234).
