Vocal Ensemble
Explore an array of singing styles by learning music from different time periods and regions of the world. Students are involved in arranging music and are exposed to harmonies not typically included in choral repertoire.
During this workshop, students will:
- Explore singing games to activate and free their voices
- Rehearse and perform a cappella arrangements of songs from popular music
- Develop and co-create musical language to communicate, improvise, and play
- Sing free from a need for perfection or polish—we’re here to make music for music-making’s sake!
Our workshop teacher, Kenter Davies, is a facilitating artist for Gaia Music Collective, a NYC-based organization that creates spaces for humans to engage with music in kind, connective, and playful ways . He is thrilled to be leading a vocal ensemble workshop this summer to bring some of those values to Putney.
Here are links to some of Kenter’s choirs!
